  1. Good riddance to bad rubbish. He’ll play about 3 solid games to start the season and then the real AJ will come out and start blowing up when the game is on the line or one that actually matters. He’s another MERC we can do without, just a shame we didn’t trade him when we had a chance to pull in something in return. The Yankee fans are going to be badmouthing him in no time after he gets lit up as many times as we would expect. He’s not getting younger and he knew this was a must have career year last one because he could opt out.

I will say though our rotation is hurting because of this loss and I doubt Clement is the answer….

I wonder how he will do in a town where the fans aren’t as pleasant as they are here and more importantly how he does without his blanket pitching coach.

  2. Indeed. I sure hope he realizes how much pressure he is going to have to perform at the highest standards all the time what a real life NIGHTMARE it is going to be for him if he is a bust at any point. The fans will turn on him so fast his head will spin and there is simply no comparison between Jays fans and Yankee fans. He has no idea how good he had it here…

What a complete jerk. He so could have stayed and helped our team but he bails for the money. What the 60-70 million we likely would have offered over 5 years wasn’t enough so he just had to have that extra 15 mill. or whatever. Sure, sure I’m sure he’ll say he wanted a chance at a championship title blah blah blah but Jesus if that’s the case there are some better options out there than the Yankees IMO.

I hope he gets to play against the Jays when we match up and the boys just tear him apart.

Sorry to be such a bitter man but I hope he is next years Barry Zito.

Just wait until he has a few bad outings in a row…or a tiny little blister on a pinky….. Can’t wait to see him there, the NY press will eat him alive..

  3. Burnett again will prove why signing pitchers to long term deals is a bad idea,he’ll be another Pavano, and mediocre when healthy.
