Yesterday’s tilt had an overnight rating of 2.9 which is up 12% from last year’s 2.6. Local ratings were 11.8 in Chicago and 10.5 in Detroit respectively. The numbers represent what percentage of households were watching the event. High local market number mean the rest of the countries numbers probably weren’t so good, which is understandable.
The NHL continues to have drawability issues on tv though. Again no surprise here. Compare the 2.9 to the national dog show which realized rating of 5.1. The US thanksgiving day parade on NBC had a rating over 12.
The growth is a good sign. Still a long way to go, but a good sign nevertheless.
